![]() Star Trek XI![]() Well I have to say that I am a Star Trek fan before we get started, so get your mocking out of your system. It has been seven years since the last Star Trek film and now it’s back with a new generation. This Star Trek film brings back the original crew of the Enterprise, set before the original films this Star Trek film shows how the crew of the Enterprise was brought together. Starting with Kirk’s (Chris Pine) birth you see parts of his troubled childhood, and see how he copes with growing up without a father and following in his fathers footsteps. With Kirk getting into bar brawls, it is suggested to him that he joins Starfleet Academy to become an officer and take after his father. He takes the plunge and says he can become a captain in three years. When he gets on the transport ship to the academy he meets Bones (Karl Urban) and has already met Uhura (Zoe Saldana). When he meets Spock (Zachary Quinto) for the first time, they don’t exactly become instant best friends. With the recruits heading to their assignments Kirk is told he won’t go anywhere as he cheated on a test and Spock made the decision to leave him behind, but with Bones his friend by his side he comes up with a lie to get Kirk on board due to medical reasons. However when Spock discovers Kirk is on board he quickly changes that in order to keep the peace on board his ship. Whilst all this is going on a deadly Romulan ship from the future is making its way to find Spock in order to kill him and save their future. Then Spock from the future comes back in time, when future Spock and Kirk meet Spock explains that they are friends and what he must do in order to preserve the present, along the way Kirk meets Scotty (Simon Pegg) and together they get back on the Enterprise and put Spock’s plan into action. This is a great film, excellent special effects a great story line, which sets itself up for many more films which I’m sure, will just get better and better. The casting is also excellent and they have taken care in getting people who resemble the original cast and get in all their legendary lines. Star Trek isn’t just for Trekkies anymore, it’s a film that everyone will love, trust me!
